De-Stink an Old Sponge with Baking Soda

De-Stink an Old Sponge with Baking Soda

Sponges, by their very nature, get gross pretty quickly. If you find yourself throwing them out more often than you’d like, there’s an easy way to at least make them smell a little fresher.

All you have to do is soak the offensive sponges in a solution of four tablespoons of baking soda, and one quart of water. After a few minutes, they should smell, well, about as good as sponges can smell. That said, this trick is really simple, and can make them less smell a little less gross in the meantime.
