Despite its video focus, YouTube has become the de facto go-to place for virtually any song you could ever want to hear. A hidden experiment allows you to add a discography interface that makes finding that song easier.
We’ve covered how to enable hidden YouTube experiments before, but in short, you can enter specific commands into the developer console of your browser (Ctrl-Shift-J for Chrome, Ctrl-Shift-K for Firefox). To enable the YouTube music cards, enter the following into the console:
document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=CvMBBZAh_fw; path=/; domain=.youtube.com";window.location.reload();
Once that’s done, you should see a card in the side bar whenever you search for an artist (individual songs or albums don’t seem to trigger the cards). As with other YouTube experiments, this isn’t explicitly supported by Google, so it could disappear at any point without warning. Enjoy it while it lasts!
