Fruux Syncs Contacts Across Devices, Gives You One Tool to Manage Them

Fruux is a great way to synchronize contacts, calendars, and to-dos across devices, but now the service wants to give you a unified place to manage all of that data as well as keeping it up to date on every screen you use. The new Fruux web editor makes it easy to update contact details and keep everyone organized.

Fruux has come a long way since the last time we mentioned it, and if you’re bummed that Soocial shut down last month, Fruux may be a good alternative to explore. The service seamlessly synchronizes data like contacts, calendars, to-do lists and reminders, and more across devices, operating systems, and platforms, and supports everything from OS X, Linux, Android, iOS, and Windows as well as specific apps like Thunderbird, Outlook, Evolution, emClient, Busycal, Rainlendar, and more. Now, the team behind Fruux wants to give you a central place to edit the data that it manages for you. Instead of using the clumsy contact editing tools in your email client or on your phone, Fruux’s web editor gives you an attractive and functional interface for managing your contact details, adding relevant information, importing new contact details, merging or deleting duplicates (when the service doesn’t catch them on its own) and more. The webapp also has some other useful features, like the ability to schedule events with your contacts, share address books, calendars, or to-do lists, and more.

Fruux is free for two shares and two devices, which is great for getting your foot in the door and seeing if it’ll work for you, but it’s a little short if you want to keep a home computer, work computer, and a smartphone in sync. To do that, you’ll need to step up to the Pro version, which offers unlimited shares and 10 devices. That’ll set you back €4 (~$5 USD) per month or €40 (~$53 USD) per year.
